F: Kommen die Dinge von selbst an die Oberfläche?

A: Selten, undenkbar ist es aber nicht.

 

Um Regenwürmer im Garten loszuwerden, nimmt man eine Stichschaufel, drückt dieselbe ganz in den Boden hinein und rüttelt dann durch Hin- und Herschieben des Stieles den Boden von Zeit zu Zeit. Die Würmer werden dadurch beunruhigt, weil sie einen wühlenden Maulwurf in der Nähe wähnen und kommen von selbst an die Oberfläche, wo man sie dann leicht vertilgen kann.

Aber etwas muss doch, um Himmels Willen, da sein! Kann man mit Fug annehmen, daß alle jene, die das Ungeheuer gesehen zu haben behaupten, Halluzinationen gehabt haben?

Das gegen Ende der Dreharbeiten aufgenommene Bild zeigt ein kleines, vom Einsatz der Regenmaschine schwer beschädigtes Stück Land. Über die Art des Filmes, der darauf entstanden ist (historisches Drama, Familiengeschichte, Horror?), gibt es ebenso wenig Auskunft, wie über das künstliche Gewitter, das die Schlammwüste zur Folge hatte.

 

F: Worum ging es in dem Film?

A: Das ist nicht überliefert. Der Bildtitel könnte aber lauten: Land, nach technischem Eingriff aufgewühlt, bald versinkend unter neuem Bewuchs.

Q: Do things come to the surface by themselves?

A: Rarely, but it is not entirely impossible.

 

To get rid of earthworms in the garden, you take a poking shovel, push it all the way into the soil and then shake the soil from time to time by pushing the handle back and forth. The worms are disturbed by this because they think a burrowing mole is nearby and come to the surface of their own accord, where they can then be easily exterminated.

But, for heaven's sake, something must be there! Is it fair to assume that all those who claim to have seen the monster have had hallucinations?

The picture taken towards the end of the filming shows a small piece of land badly damaged by the use of the rain machine. It gives as little information about the type of film that was made on it (historical drama, family story, horror?) as it does about the artificial thunderstorm that caused the muddy desert.

Q: What was the film about?
 

A: That has not been handed down. But the title of the picture could be: Land, churned up after technical intervention, soon submerging under new growth.
